  • +– XZA –+ : Run

Well it has been a long gap, seems I get a bit scared of long running series writing wise and try to run from it much like a horde of zombies after i’ve started :P

But fear not I am back, and so is TokyoExpressman who rocks! at zombie stuff :D

    ~Tales of Tokyo~

    Part One: OutBreak

    Part Two: Hack & Slacker

    Part Three: Hi I’m Jamie

    Part Four: Follow The Rules

    ~Pony Tales~

    Part One: Note From Mom

    ~Fallen Saint~

    Part One: Dans Last Post

Part Two: The Beginning of The End

    Part Three: The Fallen Saint

Part Four: Garbage of The Dead

Bede ran full pace down the echoing street, the horde wasn’t fast but he knew they would keep coming until he lost them and they never got tired. Reaching the end of the side street he’d gone down he looked up and down the car strewn mainstreet. For a moment it was silent then as the gurgling moans gathered behind him they were matched and joined by others some to the right then more to the left, then suddenly the clattering shattering of windows breaking and grey darkly blood splattered arms and bodies came pouring out of shop fronts, 2nd floor windows, side alleys…they were everywhere.

Bedes heart pounded in his chest, for a moment he paused stunned and mentally kicking himself for falling into such a stupid trap.

‘This shit really happens!’ He hissed through gritted teeth, flashbacks of all the times he’s complained about the obvious mistakes of characters in zombie films.

‘Fuck it!…they’ll have to rip me limb from limb before I stop’ The thought worked like an electric shock, sending his muscles into violent action. He gripped his shotgun tightly and started off down the slight slope. It was a long run to get back to the river and his boat, and what security was a boat anyway? maybe he should find an open road and a car?

He ran, dodging between cars and out stretched arms until he could reach the relatively clear centre of the street. As far as he could see down the street shambling figures were moving, slowly filling the streets ahead, more and more of them. Eventually the way looked blocked, vacant eyes and blood stained hands making a slowly advancing wall, looking behind offered no escape.

The blast of the shotgun ripped through the air for a moment becoming the only sound in his world until the orchestra of moans re-began. The zombie who he’d shot exploded backwards, a bloody spray scattering across those close by. The second barrel decapitated another shambling corpse and Bede was through, slamming the heavy buttstock of his rifle hard into a young girls’ head as he passed.

As he ran he cracked the barrel and re-loaded, almost immediately emptying both barrels into another two growling zombies. Again and again he cracked and unloaded his shotgun, two, four, six, eight. Two at a time his shells ran lower and lower and still they came.

Dodging, firing, leaping clear of grasping clawing hands. It was all starting to take its toll, sweat beaded on his forehead and made his back feel cold and slick under his armour. He’s reached the end of a long main road, he no longer knew where he was or where to go. Looking up he saw nothing but the grey buildings and jagged gothic skyline, everything looked dead, oppressive and cruel.

He rested for a moment back against a building, ahead of him they kept coming, they were faster now almost as if they were fired up, it wouldn’t be long now.

Then something caught his eye way up near the top of the road he’d just run down, it was like a sparkling wave, shimmering bits of glass caught in the low pale sunlight. Then the noise hit him, a screeching thud and the roar of a large engine struggling to gain speed.

From the hidden side road a large yellow garbage truck careened out into view, cars and unlucky zombies being sent in sudden arcs left and right or vanishing underneath it’s wheels. The lights danced and bounced as the vehicle picked up speed down the slope a terrible repeating flesh crunch sound signifying its passage through the throng.

Bede shouldered his weapon once more and took out two more fast approaching zombies, but now the back of the mob pressing in on him were starting to falter, they turned their gaping mouths and sightless eyes towards the oncoming wall of noise and movement. I few more lurched at him and fell ontop of each other with well timed blows from the stock and then with seconds to spare he charged the left side wall of zombies knocking them in all directions like a pins in a bowling alley before he plummeted through the already shattered plate glass of a storefront.

The truck in a whining hissing cloud of burnt rubber and shattering bloody zombies skidded to a juddering stop, half of its wheels locking as the back span round like some massive yellow medieval weapon of war, bodies and limbs ricocheting off it’s side leaving a modern art of bright spattered red and rusty industrial yellow.

Bede lifted himself painfully out of the pool of glass, clothing and debris. The store was scattered with body parts and still moving bodies, zombies that had been thrown aside by the force of the truck.

“GET IN!” The voice lifted over the grumbling engine and the hissing hydraulic brakes and sent action back into Bede’s tired body.

“Margo??!” He said incredulous but still moving as he spoke. A few limbless heads snapped at him from the blood soaked pavement but only a few quick bounds and he was pulling himself up into the warm comfortingly industrial smelling cabin of the truck. Sitting in the drivers seat was a middle aged woman with pale blonde hair/

“Margo…when I heard your message I thought you were..”

“If you’d not drawn them away I would have been” She released the brakes and slammed the vehicle into drive, it shuddered for a moment as she struggled with the right balance and then they lurched forwards, weaving to and fro between the abandoned cars until they picked up speed.

“I think it’s time we got out of here, and I have an idea how” She turned for a moment to look at him smiling a world weary but still hopeful smile.

Bede smiled weakly back, and rested back against the door, feeling it’s hardness. That had been close, too close. This was no longer a world where you could take frivolous risks, every moment was a risk it was all about picking the lesser of two evils now.

He set his jaw, teeth clenching and reloaded his shotgun.

It is so weird writing about myself :P I much prefer to make everything up rather than base it on reality. Anyway sorry again for the super long delay with my last cliff hanger, who knows this time I might get on with it sooner. The only Xangan i’ve added in so far hasn’t been on Xanga for ages >.< so I really need to get to some place more populated with Xangans ;)

    Day 7 – Feeling Positive

Today asks for a list of things I am grateful for, and in truth it really dosen’t need a big list for this sort of thing. As many a self help guru such as Joe Vitale has said the ‘Attitude of Gratitude’ is perhaps the most important thing one can cultivate. Often I forget it it’s true, but if I pause for even a moment then I am aware that there is nothing I am not grateful for.

We are surrounded by wonders at ever turn, by random moments and far reaching concepts that are all so mind blowingly complex and perfect that there is nothing but gratitude and love that can come close to an adequate responce to it all.

So I am grateful for a reality where this (above image) can happen on a dark grey morning.

I am grateful for my family, for their love and support, for all the thousands of memories I have of them.

I am grateful to all those I have met online, without whom I would not be the same person I am today.

I am grateful for computers and the wonders they have allowed, including all of my most treasured enjoyments and the majority of my favourite memories.

I am grateful even for suffering and sadness, for those who take it on so that I don’t have to and for that which I have experiance as it has shaped and taught me.

I am greateful for beauty, in words, in pictures and in actions, I will always seek it joyfully.

I am grateful for peace, and for the lack of it so that once I experiance it I can know it more fully.

I am grateful for my mind, though it sometimes leaves me lonely and frustrated.

I am grateful for my soul because without it I would be adrift in an emptiness without limit.

Another Vitale thing taken from the Hawaiian Ho’oponopono will be a good ending to this~

<3 I Love you, I’m Sorry, Please Forgive me, Thank You <3

Hmm since i’ve started midweek, this and tomorrows post is going to fall into the weekend deadspace :/ ah well.

Well my day has only just begun and on the face of it so far it’s not been a day i’d normally describe as filled with joy…but there has been one thing thats made me rather happy today :]

Because today is someones Birthday! another Xangan who is not that active anymore for a bit, but I know her on other networks and she is a really lovely happy person who never fails to make me smile :D so I made her a short gift video with some of her favourite music and a funny little thing I bought on Fiverr. And today I sent her the link! ^_^

Also yesterday was another friends birthday who lives locally and his tradition is to give other people presents on his birthday, I thought that was quite a nice concept :)

Well if anything else happens today to make me smile i’ll add to this post, have a nice weekend all!

I’ll go for one I saw only just recently :) Moonrise Kingdom

This is the latest film by the director Wes Anderson, and so far todate I have only seen one of his films that i’ve not really enjoyed all the rest are firmly at the top of my favourites list.

This one is no exception, it is a beautiful construction both in story and filmically. A theme within the film is the different pieces of an orchestra all working together to create something beautiful and I feel this is a perfect description for the film its self, and for a lot of Wes Andersons work. Each moment and word plays its own perfect note that all comes together and creates an orchestra of mood, emotion and imagination.

But beyond my movie nerds view on this :P the films story its self I found very moving and touching. It is about many things but there are themes of innocence, love and the sense of lonliness we all feel no matter who we are or what lives we lead.

The performances of the young actors are very impressive and despite its dreamlike quality it feels very real in a sense. Plus since it’s Wes it’s also very funny and I doubt i’ll ever be able to see it without being left with a big grin on my face as the credits roll :D

It is a film full of that bitter sweet feeling of longing and comfort, you wish you could live in its world for a while. The almost childs imagination world of potential, which in truth we still live in…it’s just we learn to ignore it. So it’s nice to have films like this to remind us.

Turn a Negative into a Positive

Hmm well this year I had many high hopes for making a better income and getting more work…but none of them have turned out right so far, and infact I seem to have returned to the usually depressingly low level of my bank account.

But despite this which does have its moments when it both annoys and depresses me. I have in the last little while finally taken on the good advice of ‘If you are not getting the results you want, then do something different’ and using this I have begun changing the way I approach my goals and will achieve them.

The thing is that this days concept is infact a constant through out all life. No matter what you choose to look at everything has the dualistic property of being both good and bad, depending on where you place your point of perception. It’s actually a bit of an issue for me since if you look at something with this lens then you fade into inaction since nothing really matters one way or the other.

It also all matters of course :P thats the annoying paradox, but my mind so far tends towards the nothing rather than everything.

But bottom line is every loss, every setback is packed with reasons why it is a good thing, perhaps it makes you dig down and really try, perhaps it opens new paths, or even teaches you why the route you were taking is wrong for you.

There are thousands of ways to see an event so we may aswell pick the good ones.

  • Positivity Week Day 1

Hmm well it’s been a different year than normal, often quite lonely to be honest.
So I suppose the best picture to describe the positive side of 2012 would be:
Xanga! :D or more accurately the people I’ve met through this site, they’ve certainly kept me going through out this year more than almost anything else.

Thanks to Lisa and the other lovely folks who tagged me in their lists i’ve been feeling all warm and fuzzy :D

    And now it’s my turn!

Your Xanga name and meaning: Saintblue1131 – Been through this many times before but…First of all I am named after a Saint, second I am sometimes nicknamed ‘Blue’ (mostly by my dad) and I also like the colour Blue. And third the numbers 1131 look good in digital clock font…and I kind of like the sound of them plus they were there on my original Xanga name of BFB1131 so I kept them to have an identifyer.

How long you’ve been here: About 2 years by now :)

Do you have more than one account: I don’t have enough time for one let alone 2 o.O

How many times have you changed your name: Once from BFB1131 to Saintblue1131

Name and tag 10 people that keep you here and why, not justbloggers that you like to read/etc, but people who really and truly MEAN something to you. Tell us what they’ve done for you, how they’ve inspired you, howthey’ve been a friend/cheered you up, say something nice about them.

@lkjslain She truly has inspired me not only as a person through her personality and intellegence but also her creativity and writing prompts. I really love Lisa, she is like a sister. One of those friends you could not see for a year and yet still be completely close to as soon as you meet. Bottom line…she’s Awesome!

@xxxlovelylollipop Nadia :D anyone who know’s her knows she is a loving and supportive person. She has taken care of me, supported me when i’ve had no one else to turn to, inspired me to keep writing and improving and been a wonderful friend. I am eternally grateful to her and feel blessed to have met her.

@fabolousclown Amalia is truly fabolous ;) one of the funniest bloggers on this site, incredibly pretty and sweet…but also smart and a bit of a trouble maker :P hehe knowing her brightens up my life.

@I_Love_Burma Marlar has been one of the most important friends i’ve made on xanga. Her blogs are always interesting and creative but it is just everything about her that I like.

@xdeelynnx Deanna :D A genuinely lovely person. Definately one of my closest if not my best Xanga friend, she has been there to listen to me when i’ve needed to complain or just chat. She’s always supported and encouraged me. I hope I always know her.

@babieboo_annie If I am ever feeling down all I need do is visit An’s blog :D She is a wonderful person with a great talent for creating beautiful things and sharing positivity and joy.

@zissu25 Jordan, the master of all tiny brazillian monkies ;) very funny, friendly and kind guy with jolly good taste in most things by the looks of it.

@knightincroatianarmor @restlessbutterfly Boris :) along with his lovely GF Rez are two of the really good folks on here. They have always been funny, kind supportive and genuine with me and I am very grateful to know them both.

@nushirox2 Nushi is just cool, even when i’m not finding much time for Xanga I always check her blog. And even though 80% of it is mostly quotes there is not one single post of the none quote veriety i’ve not enjoyed :) plus she is the prophet of my new religion so I kind of have to tag her here :P

Well as Lisa said too many to choose form so i’m going to stick at 10 (although i did sort of cheat and add one more with Boris&Rez) I love you all, it’s never just one blogger who keeps me here, but all of your creativity and uniqueness.

If you ever leave, will you say goodbye first: I doubt I will, but yes i’d say goodbye for sure…unless I got abducted by aliens of course ;)

Do you have any xanga crushes: Oh my yes :P

Are there people on xanga that you actively avoid: Errm well not actively but there are people I tend to to associate with.

Do you troll: No not my cup of tea…I’m more on the side of the goat ;)

Has the community been there for you in times oftrouble/pain: Yes :D both through posts and comments and via private chat or messages, xangans and friends from xanga have been a wonderful support for me these past 2 years and helped to impact and change my life.

  • The Lost Avenger

Phew it’s been a bit busy here, and i’ve been unwell, nothing serious (fingers seriously crossed) but still it’s never easy to find motivation when you are snuffling about and feeling sorry for yourself.

I have quite a bit of work popping up too at the moment :D which is great news! and on top of that i’ve for the very first time ever writtne up my CV and even applied for a job O.O

Basically I need income and i’m finally putting my own online efforts on the back burner ahead of actually working. But also some other website clients have been doing sterling work promoting me for hich I am eternally grateful.

Oh also I have taken a couple diving lessons, one with my Bro (who doesen’t have a license but knows how to drive) and one with my dad. I finally understand what the Clutch does!!! :] hehe

Seems like a fun if slightly alarming pass time and to be honest I still have no where I need or want to go via car, but if I do end up getting work it’ll be a heck of a lot easier to get the 10 miles into twon by car than hitchhiking :S

But finally the fun bit of this update :D check out my awesome Captain America inspired hair do ;)

Okay yes I may look a little bit closer to Hitler than the Captain :P but still i’m pretty pleased with it, goes rather well with my trench coat and fedora ;)

Right well thats my update done for now, but I really do want to get back to my Zombie story, and do the Positivity week thing…but for now I need to work a bit and perhaps i’ll get back for another post tomorrow or the day after.

Hope all is well here on Xanga :D

    The Xanga Zombie Apocalypse Continues:

    ~The Tale of Tokyo~

    Part one: OutBreak

    Part Two: Hack & Slacker

    ================

    Scraps and left overs:

Shambling towards my keyboard, the last of my sanity slipping away(due to a bite from a zombie) I PPhilip here on the west coast am preparing to write my last will and testament:

I PPhilip barely of sound mind and body want to thank the Xanga internet group for the words of support when the Zombie infection began on the West Coast.
Some folks think the spread started from a visitor from Malaysia (Restless butterfly and crew) who were fleeing from an outbreak spread by Orangutans. Yes I knew Restless butterfly and her crew and was willing to help them out to find refuge here on the west coast.
    My mind is going….I can’t concentrate….S’long everyone on x…..

    ——-

Kells is still trying to contact a living person through her marine VHF radio. All remains quiet here on the Gulf Coast of Florida.

    ——

Fortunately Kells had allies with Mt Girl and others. Though a shortwave radio operator she finally got through to communicating with others in areas both troubled and others in panic mode.

Atlanta the headquarters for the quarantine information center puts out regular broadcasts. Washington DC was unable to function properly because most of the Congressmen headed to their constituents and lobbyists for more perks.
Chaos seem to be the latest champ…..

    ——

    Part One: Dans Last Post

Part Two: The Beginning of The End.

    Part Three: The Fallen Saint.

Sliding out carefully from under the low bridge Bede moved quickly and quietly across the empty road, reaching the line of buildings opposite.

Looking around him and pausing often to listen to the silent city he made his way up the hill away from the river. Communication had become harder while he was on the road and now that he was here right in the middle of one of the most dangerous places to be in a zombie apocalypse he’d lost contact.

Resting for a moment against a dark shop front he had to fight down a sickening sense of fear. He was alone, totally and utterly alone. Every choice he made right now was quite literally life and death. He looked about himself again, tearing his mind away from the building sense of doubt and panic, then across the other side of the street he saw something.

While most objects had collected a grey drabness of grime and disuse, there marking a lowered security shutter was something vibrant and fresh the unmistakeable colours, Blue, Orange, Red, Yellow and Green.

Bede followed the signs, one after another leading on into the residential areas of he city. It was still so quiet, too quiet for a city. He’d walked for over 40 minuets and not heard a single moan, nor one shambling step, there hadn’t been any sounds other than his own since he left the bridge.

Finally he rounded the last corner onto a small side street between tall stone buildings. The quiet and distance had dazed him into letting his guard down and as he turned the corner and focused on the silent crowd standing stock still heads tilted, bodies hanging loose he almost shouted in shock. Quickly regaining control Bede stopped in his tracks and slowly retraced his last two steps, sliding round the corner in reverse barely able to breath.

The sweat was cold on his forehead as he leaned back round to scan the silent crowd. It must have been well over a hundred or more zombies, standing, staring (if they could stare) up at the building that he knew was where Margo had been hiding.

Had they already got her?…should I try to get in?…could I even get in?

Thoughts raced through his mind, his knuckles white against he shotgun. It was then that time stood still. From his hip the gently hissing radio that he’d forgotten to switch off crackled into life.

Bede, they’re everywhere I couldn’t make noise before…I’m sorry, you have to leave me

The volume was on low, but the static and silence around him made it sound like an orchestra had just started up two foot from his head. Hid shocked reaction sent the radio skipping across the smooth stones of the street, ricocheting a clattering echo off the looming buildings.

There was a terrible moment of waiting silence as the radio came to rest and Bede sprinted after it, the sounds of his every movement like thunder in his ears. Then it began, a gasping, rasping low rumbling moan, first one or two then many voices joining together and echoing down the deserted streets. Rank after rank of pale soulless eyes had turned his way and shambling legs drove on towards him, the horde had woken.

Bit of a short one this time, will add more soon :) I need to stop myself from over writing scenes too much and taking too long lol.

  • Someday

Oh so many things to do, need to write more, need to earn more, need to play more…(well actually I don’t but I really REALLY want to ;)

But for now I’m going to join in with @babieboo_annie once again and post some things from my bucket list…not that I have an official one but I’ll just imagine that I do.

1: Go out for a few days camping and trekking with a horse.

2: Spend the Night in an ancient ruin.

    3: Drive one of these.

    4: Go Skeet Shooting.

    5: Drink a Martini.
