  Shining Knight

  A researcher at a laboratory that was producing mirrors for use in satellites Knight was working late one evening in the clean room when the last of the other personnel left and unwittingly locked him in. Unluckily it was the beginning of the weekend and with all his clothing and personnel items (including his phone) in the changing area he was stuck waiting for rescue.

  While waiting he began experimenting with some theories he’d been formulating involving lasers and the extremely clear satellite mirrors. He discovered that by arranging two perfect mirrors opposite each other and firing a beam of high power light into them he could create a seemingly perpetual energy source, even after the laser was shut off.

  He continued his experiments for the full two days and by the final night on Sunday he had perfected a single solid beam of high intensity light between the mirrors…with no source other than its own reflection.

  It was then that a single screw failed on the support that held the mirrors, moving them just enough to ricochet the beam directly in line with his head. The unique energy beam of light vaporised him instantly.

  The following morning no trace of him was found other than a few indecipherable notes. It was months before the mirrors were ready and shipped out to the launch pad. It was only when the completed satellite was left sitting in a hanger that a direct beam of sunlight was allowed to strike one of the mirrors, as the high power of sunlight passed over the perfect surface it shattered and Knight was left standing light by the golden sunlight…but he was no longer entirely human.

  Infused by light energy Knight can project light blades form his palms, fire deadly laser light from his eyes and travel instantaneously between reflective surfaces. Purified by the light within him he defends justice and fights with honour for the forces of good.
