Can you guess which character I sympathize with most? :P

I love sleep, I really do.

It’s really hard for me to get up in the morning for several reasons, but the strongest of them is just that I love sleep, while asleep you are freer than at any other time.

You can fall into strange new worlds and enjoy mind games or day dreams with so much more clarity and ability than during waking hours.

I hide from the day, from my responsibilities, worries and cares…simply by rolling over and cruling up.

During that precious time between sleep and consciousness I can live out any fantasy I desire, be anyone, be with anyone I can imagine.

There are plenty of reasons why I end up feeling bad atfer sleeping in too of course and plenty of reasons why my waking life is just as good (even just as filled with potential) but I still lie there in the morning and cannot find enough reasons to tip the balance and get out of bed.

Without Sleep we go insane our reality breaks down and we can no longer find the line between dream and real.

    But what then IS sleep?

Where are our dreams? where do they come from who or what creates them?

I love sleep but there are some who avoid it or even dislike the loss of their consciousnessand, begrudge the time they spend in that other world.

So what do you feel/think about sleep and the dream worlds we access while there?

  • I love sleep! I have trouble sleeping, so it is all the more precious to me when I get it. I do feel guilty when I sleep past noon, but as long as the clock still says “a.m.” I don’t have an issue *L0L* I have discovered that if you don’t sleep for three days/nights you may be going about your day, but not have any recollection of it :0S

  • I love sleep–just letting go of mistakes and responsibilities.  I remember at least one dream every night, often as many as 4 or 5.  Sometimes I dream whole novels and I enjoy writing them out, occasionally I feel as though I have actually visited with dead loved ones through my dreams.  Just as often as I have good dreams, though, I have nightmares from which I wake and have no desire to go back to sleep and return to that.  It’s like flipping through parallel universes, I suppose.

  • Sleep is amazing!  Lately I’ve been getting in the good habit of sleeping early.  It makes getting the day started a lot more comfortable.

  • Dreams fascinate me. I wish I knew what created dreams and if they hold any significance. Also, dream catchers are interesting – I’ve heard that they’ve helped many people get rid of bad dreams.

Thank goodness for dreams, and definitely SLEEP! :D

  • I love to sleep but I have serious troubles getting there lol I sleep only a few hours a day and my dreams as you already know are the most weird thing on Earth lol this is a great post! you always give me things to think about.

  • I love sleep too. I also love to sleep. Sometimes I sleep in as well. Sleeping is one of my favorite things to do in free time :)

  • @SUMRdaisy - :O three days and nights is pretty impressive…no wonder you lose joined up memories :S
Yea…waking in the PM is pretty hard not to feel guilty about lol
Sorry to hear you have trouble sleeping, may I ask why? is it just you can’t sleep or does your environment or mind prevent it?

    @lanney - :D wow can I borrow your mind for a while?
I get dreams but only rarely recall them and pretty much only ever one sticks in my mind a night.

@Roadlesstaken - Yes a very good habit…but oh so hard in this digital age :/
Good to see you around Xanga again Alex…I was worried you might have let life, girlfriends and all that other none online stuff drag you away ;)

@Cestovatelka - Yea I’d love to know more about them…there’s a very interesting book called Tibetan Dream Yoga which has some nice ideas in it.
Also one called The Holographic Universe…which is just wild :) hehe

@xXxlovelylollipop -  Hmm well it’s clearly still possible to be an amazing person even if you don’t get a lot of sleep ;)
But I hope you somehow manage to sleep a bit easier, sleep is so good even with strange dreams :D

@KnightInCROATIANarmor - :D sounds like we are on teh same wave length!

  • You often talk to my chocolate pillows!

I kinda regret that when I was young I hate sleeping. Now I really enjoy every single minute of the nap I take :p

  • Sleep allows me to escape from reality and live in my fantasies.

Unfortunately, sleep likes to evade me.

(Sleepy from Snow White was one of my favorite dwarfs. Along with Dopey<3)

  • I like sleeping, but sometimes I hate that I have to stop doing run things IRL in order to do it. There are also times when I’m so glad my dreams aren’t true, because as a writer, mine are very lucid and sometimes go terribly wrong.

  • @fabolousclown - Hmm only you have enough chocolate to make pillows out of >.<

    hahaha…I think i’ve always loved sleeping ;)

@JustaBrokenWing - Hehe i’ve not seen that movie enough to have a favourite dwarf :(

And yea I do love to escape into sleep.

@jess_i_cuh - Hmm lucky you that you have such vivid dreams…nothing better than thinking something has gone wrong and then finding out it was all a dream ;)

  • I enjoy sleeping.  In fact, my hobby is sleeping.  But I always forgot to sleep during weekdays.  Meanwhile during weekends I always almost forgot to wake up.

  • I love sleep too (when I actually can, that is). There are times when I wish my dreams (the good ones) were real. Lately, I’ve been having nightmares all relating to that incident…

  • I love sleeping. I especially love naps. I feel awesome and refreshed afterwards. Sleep feels so good, I could use someone to scrape me out of bed some days :P

  • I love sleep. But lately, I’ve been losing it and I’m losing my mind along with it. Sleep-deprivation can drive you into someone crazy. I have been there a lot of times. It’s time to go to bed early again.

  • @RestlessButterfly - Hahaha Sounds like a good system for getting on with work…but perhaps try to balance it a bit more.

@xdeelynnx - :/ aww ))hugs(( Well best I can offer is that they are thankfully just dreams, and thus are in a realm you have total control over, replay them and change them or give yourself abilities and powers you don’t have in this reality, you are the beginning and end of everything in the dream world.

@jennylovve - Lol yea I could do with someone to drag me out of bed too most days.
Can’t ever seem to drop off in the day though, so you are lucky that you can nap :)

@simplysuzu - Yes, sleep deprivation is no fun :/
I’ve been lucky enough to usually have an over abundance of sleep, but the times i’ve gone without it dosen’t take long for perception to become flexible.
Hope you find sleep again soon :)
