  • Butterfly Net

     

    Mr. @PPhilip a Xangan I consider to be both a gentleman and a scholar asked me in my last post about a comment of mine that was removed, to be honest It was news to me that it was removed since I was also blocked from the users site :S so couldn’t check, but since he asked I shall shed a little light on what happened, from my point of view anyway :)

    A couple days ago I was logging onto Xanga to check in when I spotted a post called ‘restlessbutterfly is attacking me’ I actually only saw the RestlessButterfly bit to begin with and since I know her I checked it out.

    The post was by a blogger called Smouldering_Cigarette I don’t know him (not sure of gender but for ease i’ll use him) and have never been to any of his blogs. The post was a bit of an odd one that I have to be honest I thought was a spoof post since it was pretty much just one line of text saying something about Restlessbutterfly being a troll and attacking him, then a link to a Google image search for ‘Restlessbutterfly’ (which included one of my drawings ;) hehe) and a screenshot of what i assume was his footprints read out showing a mix of both Restlessbutterfly and some un-usernamed Malaysian hits all at the exact same time.

    Now I will admit it was late and I was a bit tipsy from red wine, but the ‘evidence’ provided seemed so silly and the comments were so generic I sort of assumed it was all tounge in cheek, so I left a comment saying:

    “Hahahaha yea you’ve got a rock solid conspiracy theory there, all you need now is some blurry shots of lights in the sky and you’re golden” (not entirely sure of the text but that was pretty much it)

    I then browsed off and visited other sites. Eventually refreshing my homepage to see a couple of responces:

    The first was from the blog owner (Smouldering_Cigarette) and it said: “Yeah. And you’re a troll. You’re blocked.” (this is exact since i copied it from my xanga update e-mail)

    And the second was from another poster who told me that what SC was saying was true and that Rez has multiple accounts and all of her cousins are also just either her or other trolls. (Rez’s Fearlessbutterfly account was mentioned)

    To SC I said something like, and sadly I cannot be accurate here since my message dosen’t record all of it other than “Cool…as far as I know I…” but the gist was I only knew Rez as being nice and also had never really been blocked before and have been waiting for someone to disagree with me to see what it’s like :P …(again I was slightly drunk at the time.)

    To the other commenter who had replyed in support of SC’s original post I said something along the lines of: ‘Well it is true you never actually know online but so far all my experiances with Restlessbutterfly and her cousins have been very posetive, so if you have had other experiances then I hope you can take some comfort in the fact that they are kind people’…again I can’t be totally sure of what I said but it was simply saying that I did not have the same perception as the commenter of the people mentioned but while I do support them (Rez et al) it is true that one cannot ever be 100% sure of online reality.

    The reply to my reply that started out with ”Cool…as far as I know I…” was this by (Smouldering_Cigarette): “Maybe you should ask your butterfly friend to stop attacking me. I’ve never been to her site, never comment on her blogs or even know her. I know she sabotages people’s site to get rid of them from Top Blogs. I caught her redhanded and I have reported her.”

    And after that he blocked me.

    Actually come to re-read it, dosen’t that responce have a rather glaring contradiction in it? -_-

    And thats the whole story as far as I know.

    My two cents are that in my time on Xanga and time knowing Restlessbutterfly I have only ever seen someone who is passionate, kind, supportive, fun…and a bit crazy ;) but only in a good way.

    She’s on many occasions gone out of her way on my behalf and I have never seen any of her blogs since knowing her that have been anything other than funny or interesting, certainly never attacking or troll like.

    But as I stated above one can never know for sure online, so perhaps there is another side I’ve not seen it’s possible…like it’s possible with any one of us. But I rather hope if anyone accuses me or anyone esle of being a troll they have a little more evidence than was presented in the post I saw.

    To be honest I’m still not sure it was a real post I was considering posting about it before PPhilip asked me…but it was just so inconsiquential I decided against it. So I do most certainly hope that Rez either didn’t see it or has ignored it since again in my experiance it’s not true and a rather lame attempt if it was done maliciously.

  • Things to Do:

    So I’m still working on the test project I got from my interview…it’s tricky and complicated but not impossible.

     

    As asked by @cestovatelka here is the thing I actually have to do:

    Looks easy right?…well I’ve got to make that in HTML and CSS…with some JavaScript too :/ and despite it’s simple layout when you factor in the need for cross browser compatibilty and the variance in each element then it actually turns out to be a bit of an S.O.B to figure out…I’ve already tried one wya and it sucked…but i’ve found a new way that is proveing to be much more successful so fingers crossed i’ll be done soon ;)

     

    It is however going to be taking up most of my free time for the next week and a bit so I cannot do some of the updates I’ve wanted to do here, which include:

    Some more writing: I have one story half done the idea of which was suggested by Nadia @xXxlovelylollipop and a couple others i’d like to get back to adding bits to.

    Some more XL drawings and more importantly backstory for the Heroes’ world, hopefully intergrating the additions made by my partener in crime (literally in his case ;) Chris or @twiztidsilverskull his fun additions to the XL and BAD world via various other games and his laberynthine mind have got me all inspired to write something a bit out there to help tie it all together so that should be fun :)

    Also @Endless21Echos got me to thinking about shooting stars recently and so I want to write a short description about the most impressive solar and shooting star related sights i’ve seen…sadly I’ve no photos of them but the tales are worth telling.

    And finally on the subject of photos I’ve taken a few recently that i’m smugly proud of, they actually look quite arty for once so I’ll have to get a gallery sorted soon.

     

    But as you might have guessed by now this is just a teaser because I needed my Xanga fix…and couldn’t be arsed to sort out a proper post :P

  • My First Time…

    ~At a Job interview~

    Yes due to a combination of circumstance and impressive dedication to laziness I have reached the age of 27 without ever going to a job interview…not evne once…until now!

    A jolly nice and helpful chap in a local business for which I was helping make a site, introduced me to another fellow who works at a place that does CMS…now for those not in the boring world of websites that stands for ‘Content Managment Systems’ and basically means sites that the end user can change or update. This company runs and creates CMS for various sites, it also builds sites and helps it’s customers use the CMS…which they often times don’t bother to learn.

    And aparently they are always looking for new WebMonkeys like myself :)

    So we setup a meeting on the 23rd of this month, (which i made it too :P ) and I was presented with the dubious prospect of having to explain to a room of four people that somehow i’d managed to get to 27 with no qualifications, experiance or job :/ lol

    But despite that and the fact that my areas of skill (which while in the same sort of business) were not nearly honed enough for some of the more technical oppertunities they gave me, it actually went quite well (I think) and I am now taking on a test project they sent me to see if I’ve got what it takes :D

    All in all…i’m quite glad I never had to do that sort of thing too many times…and I’m perhaps foolishly hopeful that I stand a good chance getting at least somekind of work with this company…

    But I have to admit once I got home I was a little bit pumped up with the tension of it all and had to go for a nice long walk, that ended in a warm beach :)

    Now thats the best way to relax after an interview! ;)

    But despite my relaxing walk, and positive outlook…this is still not an easy test project and there’s lots to learn to get better for the most desired position…so I could certainly do with some extra luck if you have any spare :D

    In other news I shall now reveal what was in my badly packaged (and currently on it’s way) package!!

    It was a Rifle :-O

    No, not a real one just an Airsoft one that fires little plastic BB’s they sting but don’t kill ;)

    Amalia came closest to guessing…but only because she cheats! :P

    Question: What happens when you take 1 relatively intelligent but lazy guy, 1 awkward object and several just too small boxes, then add a Queen greatest hits soundtrack…

    Answer:

    -_- Just have to get more packing tape and hide it under brown paper…they’ll never find out ;)

  • Pillow Talk

    Can you guess which character I sympathize with most? :P

    I love sleep, I really do.

    It’s really hard for me to get up in the morning for several reasons, but the strongest of them is just that I love sleep, while asleep you are freer than at any other time.

    You can fall into strange new worlds and enjoy mind games or day dreams with so much more clarity and ability than during waking hours.

    I hide from the day, from my responsibilities, worries and cares…simply by rolling over and cruling up.

    During that precious time between sleep and consciousness I can live out any fantasy I desire, be anyone, be with anyone I can imagine.

    There are plenty of reasons why I end up feeling bad atfer sleeping in too of course and plenty of reasons why my waking life is just as good (even just as filled with potential) but I still lie there in the morning and cannot find enough reasons to tip the balance and get out of bed.

    Without Sleep we go insane our reality breaks down and we can no longer find the line between dream and real.

    But what then IS sleep?

    Where are our dreams? where do they come from who or what creates them?

    I love sleep but there are some who avoid it or even dislike the loss of their consciousnessand, begrudge the time they spend in that other world.

    So what do you feel/think about sleep and the dream worlds we access while there?

    Trolls, Spam bots and the deeply creepy.

    We’ve all had to turn down friend requests in our time on this site…but my question is how do you do it?

    More accurately which of the predefined responces do you choose most often? or do you change it up depending on the request?

    Personally since the majority of my turn downs are SpamBots or misguided marketers I’m a big fan of the ‘These are not the Droids you are looking for‘responce,

    Kenobi know best and it amuses my sense of humour to say this to a Spambot ;)

  • Hopes and Prayers

    My heart goes out to all the people in the area of the recent earthquake and Tsunami warnings.

    I pray that all the Xangans in that area particularly @fabolousclown are okay and safe.

    Thanks to Xanga I’ve met a lot of wonderful people in that area of the world so please keep them in your thoughts during this time

     I wonder if in the future we’ll lose the ability to show emotion :P hehe

    To be honest I actually genuinely emote quite a lot while typing and will often only choose a more expressive symbol or abbreviation if I actually chuckled to myself or smiled, but even when I actually laugh at something I’ve read it’s often (obviously i suppose) much more subdued than normal.

  • Good News Everybody!

    A whole bunch of cool things are happening at the moment for me…scary sort of but cool.

    First of all there’s the potential that my family will get hold of a new business that could actually be quite exciting and hopefully profitable, not to mention it would involve all sorts of oppertunities for work and need for me to sort of be almost a real person with a drivers license and everything :O lol

    But the most interesting thing to happen today was that I was in a local shop helping them sort out their online store and the owner called me over to talk with a guy who had come in, and it turned out he’s a guy who works in another local Web Content Managment business…and they are looking for new employes!!! Now to be honest I wasn’t exactly looking for a job, I’ve so far managed to only ever work for either family or my self but I have to admit the prospect of an income would certainly make life a bit easier and help with my own online efforts, so it was actually a bit exciting to think there might be a potential job in my skill area available…still not sure and I’ll know more about it once i’ve sent him some of my work and had a chat but all very interesting :)

    I’m pretty much a massive coward when it comes to change so I tend to wait till events or other people come along and do it for me…so this might very well be the knocking of change and for once I’m not that worried about it either way it turns out.
