  • Oh no…No Ideas! :O

Well although it’s happened a couple times before never has there been quite such a blank on possible blogging topics before :S ah well happens to everyone eventually….it’s not you it’s me lol :P

So without anything useful or interesting to post about (and international Womens day being over, and thusly invalidating my last post, in my mind anyway :P ) I shall just post a life update post.

These are not my favourite topic of post…because for one nothing really happens in my life from day to day, or week to week that would be of any interest to anyone but me…and even to that audiance it’s a stretch. And for two I much prefer to post something that i find interesting or hopefully funny, not the random events in my life, that while interesting to some of like that sort of thing are in the end utterly un-enlightening (as far as i can tell) and thus of less value in my perception.  But I gotta post something so this will have to do.

So I’m feeling much better thankfully :) I’ve finished my Anti-Biotics at least 4 or 5 days ago and apart from a nagging cough, some aches and minor weakness I’m well on the way to being mended. I’ve got an apointment to ‘discuss’ a letter sent from the bigger hospital on the mainland :S whatever that means…quite frankly they could have just told me what the letter said rather than say make an appointment to discuss it, but hey at least it gives me a chance to get my lungs listened to so I can make sure the infection is gone and it’s just clean up time.

Apart from that i’ve been working on a website for a relative through which he is hoping to sell his photographs, it’s been a long time in the works and my previous version, although quite nice was flawed and needed to be updated, so i’m using the gloriously easy and flexible WordPress platform to remake the site. It’s going rather well too and I hope to have it sorted within the next few days…then i’ll post it here and hope you guys help me out getting some traffic to it and also spotting any errors and giving me a review :)

The weather has been mostly storms, with rain and greyness. This and my pertty convincing excuse of still being in recovery has meant some drastically late morning…infact only the prospect of missing the chance to catch up with various online friends on the other side of the world has driven me from my bed and into the cold harsh grey light of day.

Most nights recently have been taken up with either plenty of time spent on my 3DS, it’s really amazing how much time and fun can be gotten out of a device no bigger than my hand…it’s a wonder anything ever get’s done anymore with all these easy handy technologies around, perhaps thats why Women are the majority online, all the men are too busy on their protable devices and can’t multitask aswell lol :P

Or spent trying to build a doomsday device while foiling the attacks of the forces of justice….errrm no not for real…or is it Muhahahaha…no, no it’s not it’s in the rather fun computer game Evil Genius, which puts you incharge of a classic 1960-70′s bond villain type evil genius who must rise to rule the world…or destroy it. So far mostly it’s going well, but now that there are so many super agents after my hide things are getting a bit hot, plus they keep killing my minions…lost around 700 of the poor little blighters so far :/

Other than all that (props for you if you got this far Amalia) I’ve been hoping to get back to some Internet Marketing work as before i got ill i was accepted into a Network which seems to be quite good and with a bit of effort and more learning I might even start to make proper money online for once…and then you’d better believe i’ll be posting :P with smug and self promoting posts about how rich I am lol

But the thing with me is once I get un-horsed from a task it’s VERY tricky to get back in the saddle, so as of yet I’ve not even looked at anything IM for weeks. The only profitable thing i’ve continued so far is writing for Hubpages, which takes some dedication before it shows profit…i think i’ve probably passed $1 in all the time i’ve been with them :P but I like writing there, love the site and as long as you keep at it and make sure to focus on quality and good topics eventually it all builds up and best of all is one of those lasting things that once done will just sit there doing it’s job.

So thats about it really, another 11 days before I head off down to England for a short holiday (about a week) and untill then I’m basically going to keep on getting better as my main focus, with perhaps the exception of visiting a friend soon for some movies and Xbox games :)

Ah it’s also almost the weekend, where people with actual jobs get to feel like they can have some time off and enjoy things…while I tend to feel like i need to be working all 7 days, yea it’s crazy but i still envy folks who work for others. So ignoring that bit of whining Have a fun weekend everyone! :D

  • International Womens Day

    It’s International Womens Day!!

Today is International Womens Day well in the UK it is anyway, it’s probably already been in other places, but hey doesn’t really change the point.

So since the majority of this wonderful community is women I thought I’d give a few props to the amazing ladies who not only make up Xanga but just the general women of this world who are wonderful, beautiful, loving, kind and able.

Most of the people I know here on Xanga are women, and no that’s not because I delete all the dudes ;)

And I am proud to know each and everyone of them, they are my friends, they inspire me, they teach me and are a constantly loving and creative group of unique women.

Some pretty unforgivable Sh** has been done to women through out time, but luckily few are as strong, adaptable and capable as women and more and more the rightful balance and equality is gained and accepted.

Though it’s easy to divide the sexes and come up with all sorts of reasons to support the differences the fact is we are all beings and should all have the same rights to exercise our free will. We don’t have to take on the behaviours of one or the other to fit in and we don’t have to come up with all sorts of rules to make the balance work, we just have to accept that in the end each and everyone of us deserves a fair and level playing field from which to act.

But I don’t want this to be a whole thing about equality because it should be obvious and it’s not the one and only thing I want to focus on.

So next I’ll just highlight what I think is so amazing about women and why they are a treasure and a wonder.

Grace, beauty, subtlety, serenity and many more terms and concepts that are not only admirable but alluring and attractive are more often than not associated and symbolised by women, they are beautiful and fascinating, mysterious and complex. All life begins with them and is made by them, I cannot help but be forever humbled and obsessed by women and the feminine.

A line from the stand up of a guy called Louis CK got me to thinking on the subject of women, the line was “Your mother is the first person you’ll ever love” and that just seems quite wonderful, the emotion of love one of our most powerful and beautiful is born with you, so along with life your mother (every mother) also gives you love.

But again I don’t want this post to seem like I’m just saying all women are basically mothers or only good for child bearing.

Because of course everyone and most certainly every woman is FAR more complicated than that, so I suppose all that’s left is to say thank you to all the women whoever they are and where ever they are for being yourselves, for being loving and kind, for being strong and fighting for what should have been free to begin with, and well just thank you :D without you I wouldn’t know what to think about for like at least 90% of my day :P hehe

Yea there are loads of cool and awesome women I could have picked as pics for this post, but being a nerd I had to pick Kara ‘Starbuck’ Thrace because shes epicly cool :) and a really strong female character in the superbly gender balanced Battle Star Galactica (although she is a bit of a tomboy it has to be said)

And also Tina Fey who is among other things the star of 30 Rock and is clearly a very intellegent and hilariously funny women that I respect the work of Immensely, but it don’t matter who because today (and lets hope everyday) is a day for everyone to remember just how important and brilliant all women are.

  • Get a Real Job.

There’s something that often crosses my mind as I sit for hours infront of my computer either learning about or doing various online work persuits. (pretty much browsing the web, watching online video or reading PDF’s)

Basically I tend to look down on what I do or have done as not ‘really’ a job, since I’ve never done a proper job and have only ever worked for myself I sort of feel like ‘proper’ people do more important things with their days.

In fact I have this whole imaginery world somewhere in my mind where ‘real’ people are off doing something important and vital to the advancement of…errm something.

But when I actually stop to examine this strange world of besuited men and women all doing their ‘proper’ jobs I start to realise that if you actually look at the daily activity of a job…any job you realise we humans do some of the strangest things with our time.

A famous chef may be all fancy and have TV shows about him/her but in the end all they are doing is cooking, they spend most of their days chopping up vegatables and meats and then warming them in a veriety of ways, there’s nothing more to it than that all the complexity and style is just a matter of levels of detail.

And the more high powered or fancy the job the worse it ends up looking under the light of examination, what for example do you imagine a CEO does? to be honest I have no idea but it can only be sit in an office or meeting room and talk, perhaps with a few phone calls in between. In fact once you’ve gotten to any type of managerial position most likely it’ll all boil down to using a computer, so at it’s simplest it’ll be using one or more office programs :/

It can be both quite fun and a bit depressing to look closely at the details of careers or jobs, I tend to hold onto this magical world where somehow someone else is doing something far more important than me…but look closely and in the end the day to day time we spend working is mostly just something surprisingly mundane and often simple.

Of course the effect of these mundane actions and the layers of skill and know-how that we accumulate throughout our working lives gives new meanings and multiplied power to our efforts but it’s only the rare profession that actually seems to require unique and mysterious ability to achieve.

So what is it that you do everyday? is it something skillful and unique? or do you tend to spend most of your time just doing normal things with only a few highlights were experiance and skill come into play.
