Support – Compassion – Community
First off I’d like to direct your attention to THIS POST By @firetyger as I think it not only is a valuable and important message but is also relevent to what I wanted to post here.
And now my post:
I would like to say Thank You to all those who everyday share their lives and problems with us.
The act of opening yourself up and admitting you have a weakness or issues is often true strength but more than that your honesty and trust gives everyone a chance to express compassion, to see the pain in someone elses life and put aside judgement or opinon and just be there for them.
For a long time I was somewhat harsh in my mind when it came to people and their ‘problems’ I thought well rather than going on about it all the time and indulging in the bad side why not do something about it? But this was an uninformed position to take, because it’s through this sharing and expressing of our inner selves that we manage to build an understanding and bridge the gap that separates us from each other, it also allows some of the most powerful and healing emotions life and expression, Compassion, Gratitude, Kindness and Love.
By giving others the oppertunity to help you are actually helping not only yourself but them aswell, everything we see in our world is as much a part of us as it is separate and if we can heal or care for others then we do ourselves a great service.
So basically Thank you to everyone here who has the bravery to share their hopes, dreams, worries, pains, losses, loves and everything else that makes us the strange complex things that we are, because its’ you who have brought us together as a community and opened my heart to compassion in an entirely new way.

I aprreciate this post, it was similiar for me during a time of my life. I also believed that it was simple to get over stuff, until I really got into some ‘stuff’ myself and realized it didn’t make sense…and I also learned a lot about the world and how people are here on xanga, and got a glimpse of certain experiences by listening to them, that otherwise I would know nothing about.
thank you for not being a stubborn dickhead who defends his views and mistakes (that we all make after all) with nasty fallacious arguments just to maintain what he thinks is ‘dignity’. The fake personality they built around them. Thats what in my opinion many people do, and make xanga a kind of harsh place. Sorry for the negativity…but I feel like its such a big part lately on here. I apreciate xangans like you.

I’m glad to see others saying that we can indeed turn the tide from a place of negativity ot positivity. We’re all human, and we all have weak moments when it’s easy to lash out at someone or something around us…which is precisely why it’s good to see posts like this, that can serve to remind us all what’s really important, and what’s not.
I would share more about my life but as in my last blog I was discussing if blogging anonymously was actually better. Although I can’t undo it now, I think it would have been a better option as I would express more.
I always miss your posts… maybe because of the time difference and you don’t time stamp.
But, I agree with you here. I read the other post as well, very well written. Bede, thank you for everything and your encouragement. You are a good guy with a big heart. We all a community and should support each other with compassion. I hope people get that through. We never know what the other person on the screen is going through but allowing them to freely express their dreams, happiness, sadness might help them with everything overall.
I always feel most welcome when there are people around me that want to share their feelings and hear mine in turn. It reminds me to express myself, since I sometimes forget to. Transparency is a beautiful thing at times. Good post

@Margo73 - Yea sometimes there are things you do think twice about, but just the option to share even small things we might not bother those around us with is amazingly helpful and shows us that despite everything we are not that different in the end.
Also there’s nothing stopping you using another site anonymously.
@pinktiger335 - Haha yea I should get into the habit of timestamping simply because most Xangans are asleep or at work when i’m posting, but i still have a sort of shyness about wether my posts are any good lol so i tend not to feel they are worth re-posting.

We are on this earth to share and support one another. Life isn’t always easy. All of us have our strengths and our weaknesses. Terrific when we can say, “he’s not heavy, he’s my brother”. While we cannot do this for everyone…there are not enough hours in the day or enough energy in one body, we can be there for those who are important to us.
What a lightbulb moment you had. Thanks for sharing. Compassion can be a very good thing!
