Amore!
Italy, I think i’m in love!
Recently i have been reminded that of all the countries in the world Itlay calls me the most, the Landscape, the Food, the Women, the Language, the Style.
I’ve only been to two other countries in my life and Italy was one, it’s stunning there. It’s gently warm and the people are friendly and wonderfully alive.
While on holiday we visited Rome (of course) and while there we stopped in at a small cafe, now this place would be the equivilent of a greasy spoon in the UK, just a tiny cafe down a back street but this was Rome so it was slightly different.
The girl who served us was without a doubt one of the most stunning women i’ve ever seen, she was perfectly presented with just the right make up, perfect hair and although it was the staff uniform she wore it like prada. I was literally gob-smacked and couldn’t help but steal as many glances at her as possible before we left.
This memory along with the wonderous flavourful food we tried out there has lived with me for years.
And just recently i’ve been watching a nice program about a couple of Italian chefs touring around the country cooking and enjoying the beauties of thier home, and it’s just made up my mind really my dream location to live would have to be Italy not only for all the above reasons but also for the language which i personally find beautiful and so delightfully expressive.
And of course having suffered through what passes as food in the UK the thought of having so much passion and quality of food and produce available makes me salivate just to think about it.
Anyway not sure what the purpose of this post is other than to say i wanna live in italy

O la la. Wait…. That’s French. Damn it. It’s harder making a clever quip than I thought….
I recently found a school friend who has been living in Italy for over 20 years!! She had been visiting the same place on holiday and made a lot of friends so she made the bold move to live there, she married a local and now have a family and live in the most beautiful setting…..end of fairytale story. Maybe that will happen to you…..:)
@CephasCornwall - lmao, aparently not because you still managed it
@Margo73 - Wow what a lovely story
I suppose i need to find me an italian girl
I want to to be able to do a lot of traveling someday. It’s kinda sad that I’ve never been outside of the United States.
The way you described that girl was so beautifully! You should definitely go back soon. Maybe…your soul mate is there?
@A_NY_Zone61 - It’s so easy to go pretty much anywhere in the world now a days, yet just as easy to forget to lol
@HelloKitty0809 - Maybe
, I know that if i were to live abroad thats where i’d choose…just need the money.
Italia is, without a doubt, my favorite place in the world. I had the pleasure of living in Roma for half a year and it stole my heart. Not one single day goes by that I don’t think about it. I traveled Europe but no other country measured up to Italy. Every city was magnificent – Florence, Capri, Pompeii, Perugia, Venice….each one will take your breath away, I guarantee it. You’ll go back. I’ll go back. Italy is in our blood now and I doubt it will leave us alone! Oh and the women…yes yes indeed. Italian goddesses. I could go on about Italy for hours on end so I’m going to stop gushing now. Thanks for bringing back such delightful memories! Great entry!!
@BFB1131 - It’s easy when you have the time and money to travel. For now I’ll travel via internet, lol.
@AncoraImparo - Thank you sooo much for sharing
you’ve clearly picked up the Italian Passion, and i’m glad i could help to remind you of such a memorable trip
I think I am in love too.
@RestlessButterfly - If anyone deserves to be it’s you
