  • I’ll Be Back!

(damn never thought doing a Terminator referance would make me feel old lol)

Okay so tomorrow at 3:40 something i’m getting on a bus to begin a 500 mile journey down south to my uncle in Cambridge.

So first off i’d like to say to all the new friends i’ve gotten recently….Don’t think that i’m one of those super boring bloggers who vanishes right after you sub/friend them, i’ll be back in two weeks and even before that i might be able to get a chance on a machine, so my completely random and often pointless posts will be back soon lol

Also thanks to all my new friends :D it’s always nice to have new people to read and interact with and i’m still a bit shy when it comes to adding people so i love it when you guys invite me and all i have to do is accept.

Secondly there are loads of great Xangans comming back after short breaks that i’m gonna super miss :( such as HelloKitty0809 who has finally aced her various tests and such and is now back to Xanga, and there’s DaysLikeThis who also was abscent for a few days and (hopefully) is now back, there’s also a guy called LibrisofVanity who writes nice poems and went into the military recently but is now back and with luck will be posting again soon.

But most exciting of all is AdamsWomanFell who was AdamsWomanLost and had to quit Xanga for personal reasons, but shes back :D and Xanga is a brighter place for her return. I love all of these wonderful Xangans and am so grateful to all of Xanga for the friendship and interaction it has given me. And yes i am aware that for someone going away from his computer for two weeks this is getting a bit melodramatic but i’m seriously going to miss this site and all the people here so i just wanted to say thanks :)

Okay now for some random thoughts and stuff about travel.

I quite like busses for long trips, they are less uncomfortable than most cars (in my experiance) and you get the chance for random interesting encounters with fellow passengers…plus they are cheap lol

So i’m quite hoping for someone interesting to sit near (wish me luck), or failing that then no one to sit near so i can get more space and get lost in my thoughts…or my DS…oh actually thats another cool point i recently got this DS and it’s got all manner of fancy wireless interaction options…but since i live in the middle of knowhere noone else has one >:( so maybe with luck during my trip i’ll be able to find another DS users somewhere on the bus :) and play some wireless games etc, should be quite exciting.

Another interesting thing about long trips and spending time away from your ‘home’ is that along with people and place we also carry with us a cloud of thoughts that ‘live’ in certain locations, like when you’ve been gone for a while from a very familiar place and when you return it feels strange and sort of alien, then as you slowly get re-aquainted with your old routines and habits so the building or location becomes more like it was.

This effect was very strongly highlighted to me once when i had been away for a while from home and as we drove back along our road lots of old ways of thinking and mind games, images etc came flooding back all of a sudden, and i realised that along with leaving the ‘place’ i’d actually left my ‘self’ to some extent.

So when we travel or spend time away from our ‘normal’ we actually have to rebuild our minds and our characters. Going down south is always a massive culture shock for me since i’ve spent so long away from crowds, cities or any form of population, so it’s always very clear that i actually have to change my pace and way of doing things in a big way just to be able to respnd correctly when there.

And if you then think about what all that means then it becomes clear that the ‘me’ that we are comfortable with is simply in part just a creation of our minds, locations and those around us which can be re-arranged and re-formed depending on need, this not only allows for greater flexiblity and comfort in ‘alien’ enviroments but also makes me slightly nervous that relativly little changes could be magnified by the change in mind and personality to the extent that you might not want to be who you were once you’ve left.

Anyway once again not sure where all this ends other than it’s worth examining your own mind when things change and find out what and why you are who you are, and if perhaps there are things you could do without or want to keep in your personality.

I will try to take a few shots while on my trip and when i’m there and post up a trip gallery once i return, maybe for a change i’ll have some interesting stories to tell hehe.

  • Xanga Legion: Rainbow X Super Hero

For those that don’t know here’s the link to my first Xanga Legion Post, there are others but i’ll have to find the links sometime and compile them.

anyway this will give you an idea of what this is all about :) XANGA LEGION LINK

    Rainboxx
    Rainbow X

Most myths are based in some fact and finding the end of the rainbow is no exception.
Rainbow X was an ordinary girl when she found a strange intricate box hidden at the back of an antique shop, the owner simply knew it as the RainBox but didn’t know where it came from. Taking it home she spent a few days trying to open the odd box but after finding it completely sealed she gave up.

It was week later that she came across the Box once more and grabbed a magnifying glass to get a closer look at the strange symbols and markings, taking it outside she began to study the surface.

As she did the glass focused the suns pure light and as it passed over the Box parts of it began to glow and come alive with colours, fascinated she continued lighting the box until it began to glow and spread on it’s own, even when she took it inside the Box continued to shimmer and twinkle with beautiful rainbow lights.
Suddenly the Box burst into light completely filling the room with one solid rainbow of light, for a moment it was everything and then the light faded.

From that day on Rainbow X was not the same, now she can use pure colour light to control strange and wondrous powers. Each combination of colours creates a different effect or energy, from powerful red beams that cut through steel to soothing blue that heals or turquoise that grants invisibility, but none are more powerful than Purple which allows Rainbow X immense strength and speed, regeneration and piercing intuition.
Versatile and powerful Rainbow X is a fearsome force for light, life and good.

Day Four: Seven things that cross your mind a lot.

    Turn ons.
Okay i’ve already done the more romantic win my heart ones so these will be more out and out ‘turn ons’

Musical Instruments: Ignoring the obvious mine field of inuendo there’s just something about a woman playing a musical instrument that makes me go all hot an bothered, not sure why but…damn! have you seen a female bass violin player?

Ability: This is attractive in anyone but particularly for me if i see a girl who’s clearly skilled and capable that can really do it for me.

Grace: Some girls just know how to move and make an impact, i’m not so much talking about the sexy hip waggle more like just women who are comfortable with how they move and thier clothes, kind of a mix of grace and style.

Making this list just made me realise i need more women in my life :(

  • Amore!

Italy, I think i’m in love!

Recently i have been reminded that of all the countries in the world Itlay calls me the most, the Landscape, the Food, the Women, the Language, the Style.

I’ve only been to two other countries in my life and Italy was one, it’s stunning there. It’s gently warm and the people are friendly and wonderfully alive.

While on holiday we visited Rome (of course) and while there we stopped in at a small cafe, now this place would be the equivilent of a greasy spoon in the UK, just a tiny cafe down a back street but this was Rome so it was slightly different.

The girl who served us was without a doubt one of the most stunning women i’ve ever seen, she was perfectly presented with just the right make up, perfect hair and although it was the staff uniform she wore it like prada. I was literally gob-smacked and couldn’t help but steal as many glances at her as possible before we left.

This memory along with the wonderous flavourful food we tried out there has lived with me for years.

And just recently i’ve been watching a nice program about a couple of Italian chefs touring around the country cooking and enjoying the beauties of thier home, and it’s just made up my mind really my dream location to live would have to be Italy not only for all the above reasons but also for the language which i personally find beautiful and so delightfully expressive.

And of course having suffered through what passes as food in the UK the thought of having so much passion and quality of food and produce available makes me salivate just to think about it.

Anyway not sure what the purpose of this post is other than to say i wanna live in italy :)

  • Day 7: I’m sure this is taking longer to complete than it should…

Day One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now.
Day Two: Nine things about yourself.
Day Three: Eight ways to win your heart.
Day Four: Seven things that cross your mind a lot.
Day Five: Six things you wish you’d never done.
Day Six: Five people who mean a lot (in no order whatsoever.)
    Day Seven: Four turn offs.
    Day Eight: Three turn ons.
Day Nine: Two smileys that describe your life right now.
    Day Ten: One confession.

    Turn offs….hmmm

Lack of respect: not for me but more like a lack of general respect. If you can’t respect the world around you then it just annoys me.

Vanity: Looking good is nice but if it’s just self obsession or vanity then i’m not interested.

Too much fashion: I like stylish women and fashion, but it can go too far and when the make up and clothes are all there is then theres something wrong.

Trying too hard: I don’t like dealing with someone who’s forever trying to be something they arn’t, be comfortable with who you are.

  • Day 6: Five People

Day One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now.
Day Two: Nine things about yourself.
Day Three: Eight ways to win your heart.
Day Four: Seven things that cross your mind a lot.
Day Five: Six things you wish you’d never done.
Day Six: Five people who mean a lot (in no order whatsoever.)
    Day Seven: Four turn offs.
    Day Eight: Three turn ons.
Day Nine: Two smileys that describe your life right now.
    Day Ten: One confession.

This one is pretty much all family :)

    1:My Brother

    2:My Dad

    3:My Mum

    4:My Uncle

5:A Xangan (There are lots of Xangans who mean a lot to me so i’ll leave this anonymous)

  • Day 5: Wrong Answer.

Bit late with this and i’ve not really answer it lol but still it should be entertaning.

While thinking about this one i realised something quite interesting about my view on regrets.
I actually don’t regret things I did, i regret things i didn’t do like crazy but everything that has happened to me or that i’ve chosen to do has shaped me in a large way and although the same could be said for things not done thats far more illusory than the effects of actions and choices.

So i’m afraid i can’t answer this because to do so would be like going back in time and changing the past, and as we all know when you do that you change the future (unless you have a paradox cancelling matrix installed) and if the future changes then i wouldn’t be the same person i was when i left and thus would have chosen different things to regret ;)

Anyway to cut a long (and very confusing) story short, i can’t even think of one thing i wouldn’t have done….because i did it and i’m happy with who i am now as a result.

But what i can do is list six different things.
So here are six awesome moments from my long career of playing computer games:

    Blood By Monolith Productions 1997
Very Early Horror First Person Shooter, and one of my all time favourite games.

While I was desecrating the Great Temple and had found a room with a pillar of stone which had
almost killed me when I grabbed the key from atop it and a deadly fireball belched out
from across the room exploding where had I not been aware I would have been .

a while later I found myself back in the room this time the wall beneath the fire breathing face
opened releasing an axe wielding zombie behind him I spied a cultist struggling to light a bundle
of dynamite as I turned to fire the zombie lurched at me swinging his blood soaked axe causing
me to miss, the cultist threw his bundle as I slid behind a thin stone pillar,

my death screamed toward me like a train in a tunnel but there was no fiery explosion just
the soft thud of the dynamite hitting the low roof above me. Though not blessed with a good
aim the cultist had thrown with some force and the dynamite ricochet off the roof and landed
at his feet the cultist panicked and started to run just as he did I pressed my shotgun to the pasty
flesh of the zombie and gave him both barrels, his head shot off like a cork as his body made a bloody
ark backwards slamming into the cultist and just as it did the dynamite went off.

Severance Blade of Darkness By Codemasters
3RD person adventure with unique fighting system.

Ahead of the brave knight was a chasm that had once been a bridge, but time and neglect has cause the center to fall to
the depths below, the jump was far but possible, Alas at the other side of the bridge stood a goblin sword draw.

The knight had no choice and threw himself at the gap, for a moment he was midair with nothing but hope holding him up and then
his feet touched ground and he was over. But there was no time to waste as the goblin with blood in his eyes and fangs beared
    advanced.

The knights first struck right slicing the goblins left hand clean off, then left and the goblins right hand went spinning to the void then finally
with a triumphant twirl the knight removed the creatures head.
For a moment the goblin paused blood spurting from his neck before his body crumpled, while the knight sheethed his sword.

    Baldurs Gate By Blackisle
Isometric Adventure that could be played Cooperatively.

Me and my brother would play this game coop and split our party between us, role playing each charcter for more fun.
One time after a long adventure we made it to a small tavern and decided to treat our party to a drink so all six members
each bought a wine or ale from the inn keeper no ones order comming higher than 10 gold,
but when it came to a dwarf that belonged to my bro he approched quietly while my brother in a gentle irish accent said “I’ll just have a little drink”
he then clicked the buy ale button as fast as he could as the dwarf downed over 50 golds worth of drink in less than a second.

    StarLancer By Microsoft
A superb coop Space combat flight sim.

My Pilot nicknamed ‘Panicker’ (because he panicked the enemy not because he panicked alot ;P)  flew mainly large rocket ships such as grendels
while my bro was the fighter ace, and one mission there were two battleships facing off and we were scrambled to knock out incomming ship to ship
    torpedos.
While the enemy fighters were handle by my bro i flew straight towards the oncomming torps each one capable of destroying me with blast radius alone.
As i approched i saw something in the distance, i checked my targetting computer and realised i wasn’t locked on the closest torpedo, for a moment i saw the torpedo comming straight for me and then i slammed
the stick down as the massive fighter sized torpedo shot passed me only just missing my fragile ship.

The rest of the mission was a terrifiyng mix of dogfight and targeting as i tried to stop as many torpedos as possible, without being hit by their blast, eventually iwas destoryed by detonating one too close but my brother survived and i was picked up in my pod.

FEAR First Encounter Assault Recon By Monolith Productions.
More modern Horror First Person Shooter.

After having played the original it’s expansion Extraction Point and gotten three quarters through Perseus Mandate the awesome add-on I thought
i’d pretty much seen all the ways an enemy could die but while exploring the underground research facility at the end of Perseus i was literally gob smacked
by the randomness and good design of this game.

I had entered a corridor that had to my left a small rasied area with a hand rail, to the right the passage continued passed a pile of stacked oil drums,
I wasn’t expecting any enemy to react to me so i wandered to the left and readied my Spas 12 Shotgun, as i did a soldier came round the corner.
Shocked i instinctively hit reaction time which speed up your character and slows the world down into Bullet Time, I then turned and fired, the shot
hit my target center mass and cut him in half as i watched with my mouth literally open his upper torso arced up and landed on top of a stack of two oil drums
while his legs fell at the ground.
I was so suprised by this pretty amazing bit of animation that i just sat there while my reaction time used up and the cloud of blood covered the corridor.

    EVE Online By CCP
Online Space Game, trading, mining, combat community.

Years ago when me and my brother played this game we were being taught how to multi-jump by a dutch guy from our alliance.
He flew a massive jagged Caldari Battleship and was completely stoned, so after a few attempts to get about five ships to coordinate jump
while he instructed us over an internet mic system we finally managed to do one perfectly, and as we came out of warp there was a pause
and then the dutch guy just say “I love you all”

  • Day four: 7 MindGames, The Matrix and Goals

Stolen from TheInnapropriateSkirt – just looked interesting to do.

And then i stole it from LKJSlain hehe.

Mental Matrix: Most of the time when I’m not thinking about something or working something out, I’ll be thinking of somekind of cinematic action scene, usually involving bullet time or cool physics effects like cars flying, explosions etc.

Money Schemes: More recently I’ve been considering possible ways to apply my growing knowledge of online marketing and other potential business ideas.

Goal visions: Having read, heard and listened to lots of self help stuff I try to make time everyday to focus on what I want my life to be and on what it will be when I’ve achieved my goals.

Possible Xanga posts: My posting inspiration takes time so I tend to mentally write or explore ideas for a few days in advance.

Mind Games: Not been doing much of these recently but they are always there, I have maybe two long term ones going at the moment and sometimes spend sometime progressing them.

Computer Games: Yes along with playing them I also think about them quite a bit and often try to come up with new ones or ideas that should be done.

Pre-Planned: I tend to like to consider my comments or things I have to say or do before I do them so I’m also often just running through potential jokes, ideas and up coming events so that I’m prepared for them.
