  • Do you remember your first crush? Who was your first crush and how old were you?

I do, I think i was maybe 18 and on holiday in Antigua.
I met a local girl who was working in the resorts kids club and pretty much fell head over heels, spent the whole holiday thinking about her missed one perfect oppertunity to get close to her (that i still kick myself for) and then when I had to go we had a sort of surreal moment where we hugged and said goodbye…..not really sure if she even shared my feelings but i think she did.

Either way I’ll always remember her and one day plan to return to Antigua and see what happened to her.

  • What are 10 things you like about yourself?

    1:Creativity

    2:Diligence

3:Lack of Normal Style (I just tend to look a bit odd)

4:That i’m a Nerd (I love computer games, techy stuff, kung fu, zombies, sci-fi and everything thats just very nerdy)

    5:My Hair

6:My feet (they don’t have circulation, but overall they’re not bad examples of the kind lol)

    7:My imagination

    8:My Name

9:My Desire to look after and raise children (Thanks to steephaaniiiee for making me think of this one)

10: (this is getting hard lol) My Self Belife (which i actually like my parents for giving me but still)

Well that’s a lot trickier than i thought it would be, but great question we should all be much more aware of what we like about ourselves

  • Kindness of Strangers

I’ve said something like this before i’m sure but it’s once again on my mind so i’ll have another crack at neatly summing it up.

The best thing about these type of sites and the really nice places on the interent is the potential for random acts of kindness, in fact the internet and social networks are breeeding a stronger more caring global community that will certainly spread through out the comming generation and become part of not just one cultures mindset but the entire planet.

The perfect example of this only just happended when quite out of the blue I was befriended by the lovely SerenaDante on Xanga which ressurrected my old account and brought me back to the site, and then she sent out a reccomendation for another Xangan who was suffering a bit of a crisis.

And all of a sudden I was incontact with someone in need, now I may not be able to do more than just say there’s someone out there who cares and it’s okay but just the sheer randomness and interconnectedness makes me feel liek the world is comming alive that all together we can actually affect a change, not a physical change but a change of Consciousness.

I really don’t know ‘Letsgogogox’ atall but I now care for her well being she has come into my universe for whatever reason and for that I am grateful.

    Henry Markram – TED -

When you take into account the facinating idea outlined in this video that our own brains build the world around us, and the various esoteric ideas that support this concept the ‘random’ apperance of people and events take on a whole other meaning, and become much more intruiging and facinating.

  • Is everything Sales?

I’ve been learning Internet Marketing recently, and while doing so it began to dawn on me that almost everything is one form of sales or manipulation.

Of course there are selfless acts but on the whole in the UK anyway the system of politness and social pressure means that everyone is constantly expecting something from someone and whatever they do is with the expectation that it will earn them something in the future, and even if you are genuinely trying to be helpful you still end up having to convince someone of something.

I sort of wish there was a way to just share knowledge without having to advocate it, without the other person assuming thats Your opinion.

It just leaves me feeling dishonest i suppose because i don’t actually believe in waht i’m saying most of the time, just because well you really can’t be ‘sure’ of anything, but if i think something is valuable then the only way anyone else is going to listen is if i really ‘Sell’ the idea and my belife in the use of it.

And then theres the effect that if you sell something like a self help product really quite hard and keep on with the follow up and contact your actually helping the person to keep to the program that they need and perhaps without your pressure they’d have given up and would not recive the benefit they wanted.

But that’s such a fine line to tread between helping and being pushy, what if they just don’t want it?

  • Newskyes Died….and then….

Yep my first attempt at creating a social network went down fast.

It was sucky software and i just didn’t want to be connected with it anymore, but now (and thanks to one of the few people who signed up to newskyes)

I’ve started again, this time with the awesome free software phpBB3 Open source Rules heart and Newskyes is back!

As part of the Skye business directory www.Hoidayskyes.com Newskyes now much more of a Forum is going to help bring together both visitors and locals to create a much more cooperative and community feeling Island, thats the plan anyway.
