  • Random Happy

Time for some random images of things that make me happy :)

Second Woola from John Carter all I can say about this is Awwwwwwwwww I want one!
RAGE on the Xbox, awesome game :D
The little crappy toys you get in Kindergarten Eggs :] yeah they are for kids, but I still love em ;)
This guy and also Instagram and Halftone on the Iphone ;)
This is Elon Musk, he very well might be the greatest living man currently alive and the key ti humanities salvation, also look at that smile!
Opps almost forgot one, and that is of course…Beer!

May today be filled with more joy than yesterday but less than tomorrow

  • Is that it?

As many of my friends and followers may have noticed i’ve not been around much :(

Sorry about that but having spent quite a long time making it my full time occupation to do nothing, now I have to actually exert some sort of control over my time I find i’m not that good at managing it lol so things have had to slip through the cracks, such as my copious social network time.

But it’s all paid off in a way, since the life that I had (and was rather tired of) is slowly changing.

So far the Royal Hotel didn’t fancy hiring me, nor did the Royal Bank, or the Tourist Board. But the Mitie Cleaning company certainly did! :D

It may only be cleaning and may require me to wake a a truly ungodly hour to hitchhike into town ready for 6 o’clock but it is my very first official job and so far is working out very nicely for me.

However the reason for this post is slightly more aimed at one specific person rather than to announce anything or show signs of life on my poor blog.

Over the period of my Xanga absence a very good friend decided to leave this site and close her page. She warned me of this idea before doing it infact. Sadly I was suffering from a really nasty case of food poisoning (one i’m still not over if i’m honest) and thus couldn’t quite find the inspiration to respond in time, I did respond but having just checked now I fear my response will never be read as her site is gone as are all the other locations I knew she existed online.

I would be hurt very deeply to have lost such a friend and pray that somehow she does get back in touch or reads this.

I’d also like to ask that if anyone knew Emily and still has contact with her to ask on my behalf for her to get in touch. I understand if she doesn’t and certainly don’t intend to harass or pursue her if she wants to leave Xanga and our friendship behind but it’s important enough to me that I’d like to do what I can to stay in touch.

    Thank you :)

And now I’ll get back to another unique thing, my very first Sunday that I can officially think of as a free day :]

  • Tunes Tuesday #8

Lets let our flags fly today :)

And for me thats most definitely the freak flag. Thanks to thier song Jerk it Out I got hooked on the Caesars who are somekind of early English punk rock type band by the sounds of them. Nice and rocky but not going too far :)

So this is one of my faves, though not my top of the list…but sadly not many of their songs can be found online.

Let my Freak Fly – Caesars

Lyrics to Let My Freak Flag Fly :

I’m gonna let my freak flag fly
I’ve been a fool all lifetime, but today I’ll be the king
I’m gonna let my freak flag fly
Wear it high up in the air for everyone to seeee…

I’m the best thing that you ever had how could you let be go?
how could you let me walk away?
When the only one I ever really cared about was you
I don’t care what the people say
I let my freak flag fly

I’ve been a fool all lifetime, but today I’ll be the king
I’m gonna let my freak flag fly
Wear it high up in the air for everyone to seeee….

No one takes me seriously because I’m such a fool
    and everybody knows it’s true
but everything I’ve ever done, I’ve done because of you
Yeah, this is what I have to do
I let my freak flag fly

Where did it all go wrong?
And why d’you keep pretending when you knew it all along?

Now the people that I used to know all laugh behind my back
they think that it’s some kind of joke
And everybody stares at me like it’s some crazy act
but today I’m gonna let them know
I let my freak flag fly

I let my freak flag fly x4

  • The big time

Exciting things sometimes happen up here in the middle of nowhere :)

On Wednesday I was a one day Production Assistant for a film shoot!

Well for a perfume ad shoot, and ‘production assistant’ is the fancy word for the guys that carry the heavy stuff :P but it was a fun day all the same.

And best of all I got paid for it ;)
The guys I was with were a nice example of local folks, one from Spain, another was Danish and then me and the last of our team are English lol so a nice local Scottish group :P well we do all live locally so it still counts.

The shoot was loooooong and wet and I really was impressed by the patience and lack of complaint from the male actor/model who had to stand about jacket less while looking dramatic and quite literally windswept if not snow swept at times :S

We began at 6am and only finished at 8pm -_- and despite the vast majority of that time being standing about doing nothing time it was still enough to knacker me for most of today, plus camera equipment is heavy.

Anyway should I find it online at some point there will be a Yohji Yamamoto ad that I know a LOT about to post ;)

  • Something happened

Well I started this year with the hopes that my life would change, one way or another I wanted and need something new different and progressive to occur and at newyears I decided this year is the year for that to happen.

Turns out I was right :D

A few things of note have popped up in my existence but i’ll start with the most important one:

I have in a delightfully random and unexpected way started a relationship with someone ^_^ this has so far not been a big feature of my life so it’s pretty cool and new and generally exciting. I discovered a lot about myself in only a few short weeks and I have a feeling there is more to come.

The second new thing is also pretty life changing and rather important, and that is the discovery that having spent most of my life aimless and undecided on what the future may hold, I have finally settled on the idea of becoming a Teacher. To this end I have actually sent out applications to a few colleges to get the required degrees to start my progression. This will mean, to begin with at least, a year away from home while I study, if I get selected. Not to mention i’d need to find the money but still at least I have a target that is further off than next week :P

Third far less exciting but still important is i’ve really stepped up my aims to get a job that doesn’t involve working for myself. I still need to pursue my freelance endevours, but for now I just need a job…any job. As yet i’ve had a couple rejection letters and one rather promising potential thing at a bank, but still no gainful employment. I am however pretty sure it is only a matter of time and not much time at that *fingers crossed*

Last but for a nerd such as myself not exactly least, I have also really been getting hooked on Xbox games lol even after a life time of looking down on them and only playing PC, my standards have slipped and my snobbishness has vanished. Xbox’s are awesome :D

So far DOA, Bayonetta, Rage and Mortal Kombat are my star choices, but i’m sure more will come ;)

  • Tunes Tuesday #7

Been a bit of a delay on these, and on all other posting. Sorry about that.

My recent music tastes have veered towards the modern and all a bit dancy or even cluby :S but then this type of thing does have its moments and plus i’ve always had a soft spot for electronic music thanks to games, so here is:

    MGMT – Kids

  • The Journey Home

Long time coming to the end but here is the last leg of my trip down south.

After a really lovely time in Edinburgh I finally was ready to come home and bought some very reasonable coach tickets that went from Edinburgh to Inverness for £5 and then from Inverness to home for another £5 :D

Only issue was that there was a longish delay in Inverness and then a REALLY long delay of almost 4 hours in a tiny little place called Invergarry. The time in Inverness was quick I just wandered about shops and almost bought a really nice sort of goth bracelet lol i think next time i’m there i’m going for it ;)

But the Invergarry time was by far the best. At first since it was cold and empty I though ‘oh dear this will be dull’ but there is a hotel there so I though I may aswell head into the warm if they’ll let me hang out in their bar.

The reception and the bar was manned by a pair of lovely polish folks, (i’m guessing polish) the reception girl told me I could get a coffee in the bar so I laid down my heavy pack settled in the corner and had a rather nice coffee while reading To Kill a Mocking Bird, a very fine book recommended to me by a fellow Xangan and very good friend.

After a bit I’d finished my coffe and thought, ‘hmm I think i’m going to achieve a life long goal today’ So I ordered a Martini :D

I’ve never had one and I actually really enjoyed it while knocking a couple more chapters on the head. Also in the bar were some other folks, who by the sounds of it were in somewhat involved with the shooting of The Game of Thrones, perhaps one of them was crew on the shoot or something so that was quite cool.

After my Martini I headed out into the cold for a wander, went along the river a bit, poked around a spooky looking hotel and then headed back to the bar with only one more hour to kill. This time I ordered an ale which was also excellent! :) and read a few more chapters while sitting in the comfy sofa bit of the hotel hehe

All in all I had a great time in Invergarry and despite my drinks upping the price of my tickest a bit ;) I wouldn’t have had it any other way. I finished the night dancing to Elvis Presly while waiting for my bus in the dark and cold outside of the hotel lol The ale and martini help loosen me up a bit, but I was mainly doing it for warmth :P

The coach went for a few more hours and I arrived home to be picked up my my mum, was nice to be be back in my own bed for a change and a fine end to a long but fun trip.
