Let’s win some Money…Xanga Style!
Okay fellow fine Xangans I just came across this contest:
Expose the Freelancer.com Logo! $25,000 in Prizes

And here is the Media Kit which can be downloaded from the site as well, just grap the logo and get it out there!
Now, I live in the middle of nowhere, and thus cannot even if I wanted to go and show it to more than a few hundred…if that.
But the brainwave struck me…what about getting creative with it (as they suggest) and making it a team effort
So here’s the plan, anyone who wants in on it does what they can to spread the image, make a t-shirt, poster, website andything you can think of really. Then make sure to video it or get photos or screenshots for proof.
Then you collect them all together and I edit them into somekind of unified video as our submission.
Any and all people involved would of course get a fair and equal cut of the prize, if we should win…the only guarantee of that would of course be my word but I give it to you now that I would happily split any income form this with those that helped.
Alternatively you can just join the contest yourself, the site is free to sign upto and given the right idea and video you might stand to win the entire thing
but I think working together we will offer something far more unique and powerful.The contest will be running for another 3 weeks acording to the site, so we’ve got plenty time to think something up. As I said before my local area is pretty damn limited publicity wise (esspeically out of tourist season) but I can perhaps find some digital way of doing my bit, plus I will be able to compile the final video aswell, if noone else wants to.

I just watched one of the videos; I guess it was the finalists from last year? It had a lot of people. I’ll participate, but I think there need to be an idea to work from.
@SaintBlue1131 - You’re welcome, but you didn’t miss much on my side sinceI started working 2 months ago so I haven’t been around here much either. I think I posted like 3 posts in last two months lol
I wanna play. But you can have my cut.
I can think of a few people who would be quite suspicious if I made money via the interweb
@Kellsbella - Yeah thats a good point, we need to have a general plan to guide our efforts.
I was thinking perhaps something like an animated map of the world with the word Xanga at the top, then lines going to each place we manage to get somekind of logo shown off in, and each time the line hit’s the location then it plays the video of that place.
Hmm maybe something like that anyway, just as a way of highlighting that it was many people from around a social network, perhaps that will add to our chances, also if we can make it entertaining in someway and post it on Youtube we might be able to add a screenshot of view counts to the total too.

Not sure what your options are for spreading a logo around your area, but any and all help would be awesome, just video what you do and don’t spend anything doing it
Perhaps you could draw it on a spare sheet and give your school a new flag

@SaintBlue1131 - I like that idea of all these xangans from all over the place doing a mini vlog. I suppose someone would have to compile them. I wouldn’t know where to get that blue bird logo.

I’ve added a link to the media kit from the site, it has the logo in it in various formats and sizes.
Ohh this sounds like a great idea, but my creativity level is about shot right now xD

They are a company that connects freelancers with jobs for all sorts of skill sets.
Mostly IT related but sometimes other stuff, I have been using several such sites recently to find more work…and this one seems to run contests too
If I were back home I’d help. I’d throw stickers up on everything , including the drunk tourists.
