Highland Cinderella
I was walking through the town the other day and while passing a playing field I noticed a shoe sitting on it’s own on the grass.
Somewhat curious but not enough to investigate I continued my usual slightly faster than normal walking pace towards my destination.
But as i passed a play park to the right of the playing field I became aware of a group of girls gathering near the small fence and their conversation was in someway related to the shoe.
As i drew closer I realised one of the group was missing a shoe and rather dejectedly hopping while muttering ‘Well I can’t get it I’ve only got one shoe!’.
Clearly one of the group was responsilbe, one was shoeless…and the others didn’t seem to have the required focus or decency to recover the shoe with any speed so I (feeling public spirited) offered to recover the item for them.
So I quickly doubled back and grabbed the lost soul (:P hehe) returning it to it’s rightful owner who was hopping over the fallen leaves towards the small play park fence.
Upon handing the shoe I said “I was wondering why there was a shoe in the playing field” to which her muttered responce was “Yea…because my friends are idiots…thank you” I responded with “You’re welcome” and continued on my way.
So yea…it wasn’t quite like the fairy tales :/ but at least I can say I have played the part of prince charming offcially now

Aww, how sweet of you
aww good man!
I don’t know why, but I can’t see the picture.
I can’t see the picture either, but you are such a polite person
sweet, indeed!
Awww what a sweet story, I’ve always thought of you as some sort of hero or prince in a golden armor ^-^
That was very sweet of you
You’re a saint
This is so you.
And I agree with what @xXxlovelylollipop said. You come across as the heroic, gentlemanly kind of person so this ties in perfectly with your personality. VERY cute!
LOL, I know I probably shouldn’t but I find this all quite funny.
(The whole shoe stealing phenomena is quite common in my school.)
But how very gallant of you
How nice! More than once. The girl got her shoe and I got a smile!
@Cestovatelka - I couldn’t just leave her to hop for it

But yea it was slightly amusing her annoyed commentry on her ‘friends’ lol
Thanks for the Mini.
@DandelionBall - hehe nice times two
or even three since this is a nice comment
I’ve been in a similar situation… as the girl. In grade school my shoes would occasionally fall off when I was on the monkey bars, and someone thought it would be great to put it in the middle of a huge patch of mud. No one was willing to fetch it for me, so I had to walk through the muddy puddles in my socks *ew* I wish I had someone nice enough to play Prince Charming for me!
@SUMRdaisy - :-O aww thats just annoying!
Damn shoe thieves.
Haha … sweet.
I guess that’s how modern fairy tales are.
