  • My First Time…

    ~At a Job interview~

    Yes due to a combination of circumstance and impressive dedication to laziness I have reached the age of 27 without ever going to a job interview…not evne once…until now!

    A jolly nice and helpful chap in a local business for which I was helping make a site, introduced me to another fellow who works at a place that does CMS…now for those not in the boring world of websites that stands for ‘Content Managment Systems’ and basically means sites that the end user can change or update. This company runs and creates CMS for various sites, it also builds sites and helps it’s customers use the CMS…which they often times don’t bother to learn.

    And aparently they are always looking for new WebMonkeys like myself :)

    So we setup a meeting on the 23rd of this month, (which i made it too :P ) and I was presented with the dubious prospect of having to explain to a room of four people that somehow i’d managed to get to 27 with no qualifications, experiance or job :/ lol

    But despite that and the fact that my areas of skill (which while in the same sort of business) were not nearly honed enough for some of the more technical oppertunities they gave me, it actually went quite well (I think) and I am now taking on a test project they sent me to see if I’ve got what it takes :D

    All in all…i’m quite glad I never had to do that sort of thing too many times…and I’m perhaps foolishly hopeful that I stand a good chance getting at least somekind of work with this company…

    But I have to admit once I got home I was a little bit pumped up with the tension of it all and had to go for a nice long walk, that ended in a warm beach :)

    Now thats the best way to relax after an interview! ;)

    But despite my relaxing walk, and positive outlook…this is still not an easy test project and there’s lots to learn to get better for the most desired position…so I could certainly do with some extra luck if you have any spare :D

    In other news I shall now reveal what was in my badly packaged (and currently on it’s way) package!!

    It was a Rifle :-O

    No, not a real one just an Airsoft one that fires little plastic BB’s they sting but don’t kill ;)

    Amalia came closest to guessing…but only because she cheats! :P

  • You must have very wealthy parents. Never had a job and you’re 27?? No offense, Peter, but it’s time to come out of Neverland. Good luck with your test!

  • @Kellsbella - Hahaha yep you’re right…but nope it’s the opposite actually very poor parents, but also almost no desire for anything different than what I have…so no drive to change it.

    And I have been working for myself, not terribly profitably but still i’ve not been doing absolutely nothing…just almost absolutely nothing ;)

  • This is one of them posts that are ‘fun’ to read. Thank you for sharing that experience with us. =)

  • Best of lucks Sweetie! I’ll lit a candle for you, I’m so excited about this.

    I hope being a member of the working force don’t help you to find excuses to slack on your writting cuz I’m still wating for more about Ned :P Thank God for my pretty memory ^-^

  • Wish I could lie down near the beach like that, looking at up the sky and enjoy the openness.
    I thought my boyfriend is the only guy who had never been to job interview, and he’s also turning 27 this year.

  • I hope your interview went well! :D

    I, too, have yet to go on an actual job interview. All the jobs I’ve had were either given to me through good recommendations or I did odd/freelance things on my own. Although I have interviewed for a huge scholarship a few times, lol.

  • @nov_way - :) glad it was fun, thats what I aim for.
    And thank you so much for the HorseShoe!

    @xXxlovelylollipop - Hehe thanks Nadia <3
    I’ll try not to let too many things get in the way of a bit of writing…I actually have 70% of a story you asked me to write done, still need to get back to finishing it :/

    @simplysuzu - Oh cool so I’m not the only one ;)
    Course he’s spent his time far more wisely with you :)

    @Cestovatelka - Yay :D Well done ;) But i bet you did a bit better than me at freelance stuff :/
    And wow :O whats a scholarship interview like?

  • -gives you all the luck in the world- YOU CAN DO IT BEDE :D

  • Best of luck Bede…..

  • For my scholarship interview, I had to present a business idea to three judges and talk about what I’ve done so far about being entrepreneurial. I got the scholarship 3 of the 4 times; no idea what happened at the one I didn’t get because I thought my interview then was better than the others and I thought the other winners had worse plans than me :P lol

  • @xdeelynnx - Thank You :D eanna you are too kind and sweet!…also I’m not that bad at website stuff that I need ALL the luck in the world ;) save some for you and your exams.

    @MissNzisa - Thank you :D

    @Cestovatelka - Wow Congrats! :D you are clearly a pretty awesome entrepreneur…I wonder what it was with the one that didn’t work out :S

    @KnightInCROATIANarmor - I’m pretty confident I’ll get somekind of job there even if it’s not the techy one I’m aiming for.

    @lanney - :D As do you <3
