@clubsmiley recently posted a list of interesting questions that for the most part could have many answers or infact none at all. And i found it interesting to answer them with whatever came to mind, so inspired by that here’s a list of questions about anything and everything that i’d like people to try and answer as many as they like in whatever way they like.

Why do I have to struggle to want anything?

Is there a right and wrong way?

    Why do humans start lieing?

Why do i feel like jumping off cliffs when i’m near them?

What (if anything) will unify our planet?

Why haven’t we seen aliens yet?

Is anything truely proove-able as real?

    Why do we dream?

Are we something more than animals that over think our natural patterns?

What makes me think the way i do?

    Why is there still War?

How do some plants mimic the shape of insects?

Dose time run at the same speed?

Should we believe in things we cannot see or experiance?

It’s actually harder to come up with random questions than you’d think, it’s the ‘formspring’ problem :)

So if anyone feels like answering some of these please do i’d be interested in the results, i’d also like it if anyone felt like adding a few. Just pop them into the comments and i’ll add them to the list.

  • Why do I have to struggle to want anything? The struggle gives it value… that you worked for it. It’s all relative.

Is there a right and wrong way? There is one way and another. Right and wrong are subjective.

Why do humans start lieing? It’s a self-rewarding act to the brain. If one can get away with it, rewarding chemicals sends those feel-good feelings to your brain. It’s the rush. It gets easier to more you keep doing it.

Why do i feel like jumping off cliffs when i’m near them? Gravity.

What (if anything) will unify our planet? Take money out of the equation. It’s a utopian view highly popularized in Star Trek.

Why haven’t we seen aliens yet? Like us, they probably don’t have the technology to travel at warp speed. Or they don’t want to mess with our development.

Is anything truely proove-able as real? WYSIWYG – What you see is what you get. Science functions on what we can observe. Anything beyond that is not fact, based on what we can observe. Scientists strive to prove something. If they can’t prove it, then it’s outside scientific domain and not fact.

Why do we dream? It would be cool if it’s a window to another dimension.

Are we something more than animals that over think our natural patterns? The fact that we’re the only ones that question our existence makes as unique. We’re everything, but less-than human.

What makes me think the way i do? everything that influenced you from birth: parents, environment, interactions with objects, people, feelings, emotions, etc.

Why is there still War? Disagreement. Fear of the unknown. etc

How do some plants mimic the shape of insects? Natural selection. Mutation.

Dose time run at the same speed? No, time is relative. That’s one of the main points of the theory of relativity.

For example, the faster you travel, time slows down for you relative to things not moving as fast. An experiment was done using atomic clocks. They were placed on supersonic jets traveling around the world and compared to clocks left on the ground. When the planes landed, the traveling clocks showed less time had passed for it than had passed for the clock on the ground.

Should we believe in things we cannot see or experiance? Just cause we can’t observe them, doesn’t mean they aren’t there.

  • These are great questions… I was going to answer some but some of my answers were just like stupid_systemus =D

  • Why do I have to struggle to want anything? – I don’t know.  Some lucky people know what they want and strive to get it.  Others are content just to be, but are told that they should want.  So those that are content to be feel they should want, so we hunt around for things that we could want, but since it’s not firm in our minds. . .we struggle.

Is there a right and wrong way? – Depends on what the question is applied to.

Why do humans start lying? – Shame

Why do i feel like jumping off cliffs when I’m near them? – Fascination

What (if anything) will unify our planet? – Nothing, it’s the human condition.

Why haven’t we seen aliens yet? – They are more intelligent than us and don’t care to stir up a hornets nest.

Is anything truly prove-able as real? – I think it’s a matter of perception.

Why do we dream? – So our sub conscious can unravel the crap our senses take in during our waking hours.

Are we something more than animals that over think our natural patterns? – Maybe we’re the only animals that are aware of our mortality.  I think that puts us in a “more” category.

What makes me think the way i do? – The data processor that is your brain!

Why is there still War? – Again, human condition.

How do some plants mimic the shape of insects? – God’s creations at work?

Dose time run at the same speed? – No.  Time is relative, to person, place, speed and subject.  Einstein all the way baby!

Should we believe in things we cannot see or experience? – Yes.  Love can not be seen, and there are those that can not actually experience the emotion of love, but it still exists.  That’s only one example and there are millions so, yes.  They do exist!

    Enjoyed this!  Thanks

  • @stupid_systemus - :D Cool answers thanks man!
Love the time one, i kind of knew time ran differently but i’d not heard of that before.

@pinktiger335 - Hehe yea he did pretty well with those :)

    @mtears - Good Answers :) thank you.
I particularly like the first one.
It is suprisingly fun to answer these sorts of questions for some reason lol
